It arises by tendinousand fleshy fibres from the internal floor of the tuberosity of the ischium, behindthe crus penis ; from the floor of the crus ; and from the acPjacent portion of theramus of the ischium. From these factors fleshy fibres succeed, which finish in anaponeurosis which is inserted into the perimeters and underneath floor of the crus penis. Nerve-supply.—The perineal department of the interior pudic. Actions.—It compresses the crus penis, and retards the return of the bloodthrough the veins, and thus serves to take care of the organ erect. Between the muscular tissues simply examined a triangular area exists, boundedinternally by the Accelerator urinae, externally by the Erector penis, and behindby the Transversus perinaei. The ground of this area is shaped by the triangularligament of the urethra (deep perineal fascia), and operating from behind forwards Fig. ;^^7.—-Triangular ligament or deep perineal, fascia. On the left aspect thesuperficial layer has been eliminated.

The triangular ligament {Deep perineal fascia) is stretched throughout the pubicarch, in order to shut within the entrance a part of the outlet of the pelvis. It consists oftwo dense membranous laminae, that are united alongside their posterior borders,however are separated in entrance by intervening buildings. The superficial of thesetwo layers, the inferior layer of the triangular ligament, is triangular in form,about an inch and a half in depth, hooked up above, by its apex, to the undersurface of the symphysis pubis and subpubic ligament; and on either side to therami of the ischium and os pubis, beneath the crura penis.
