Lung sounds - Breath sounds Sorts & Causes

Here's a fast evaluation of breath sounds heard on auscultation.

The traditional breath sounds are Vesicular breath sounds heard on a lot of the lung. It's gentle and of low pitch. Inspiratory part in longer than expiration with none pause between these two phases.

Abnormalities could be presence of bronchial breath sounds, diminished or absent breath sounds, or presence of added/Adventitious breath sounds.

Bronchial respiration is hole, tubular in high quality, excessive pitched. There's particular hole between inspiration & expiration.

Added or Adventitious sounds embrace Wheeze, Crepitations, Pleural friction rub & Stridor.

Wheeze could be Low pitched often known as Rhonchi or Excessive pitched which is the same old wheeze. Low pitched wheeze/Rhonchi is brought on by secretions in smaller airways inflicting narrowing whereas Excessive pitched wheeze is due to Bronchospasm.

Stridor is just not included on this video as it isn't classically a breath sound auscultated however is audible with out stethoscope and is brought on by narrowing/obstruction of bigger airways.

A very good stethoscope like Litmann stethoscope is a should to choose sounds simply throughout auscultation.
