oenio-ryoid/ STERNQ-llYOltf MYLQ-fiYOID 2IO THE SKELETON are small, oval, convex aspects, coated with cartilage for articulation with thegreater cornua. The Better Cornua {thyro-hyal) venture backwards from the lateral surfacesof the physique ; they're flattened from above downwards, diminish in dimension frombefore backwards, and terminate posterioily in a tubercle for the attachment ofthe lateral thyro-hyoid ligament. The outer floor offers attachment to theHyo-glossus, their higher border to the Center constrictor of the pharynx, theirlower border to a part of the Thyro-hyoid muscle. In youth, the nice cornua areconnected to the physique by cartilaginous surfaces, and held collectively by ligaments;in center life they often develop into joined.
